One of our most favorite things this week in getting to know our daughter is out time together first thing in the morning. she gets up at 6:15 exactly each morning, we let her wake up a bit and just stare at us through her crib, we then bring her to bed with us to cuddle, after about 10 min we then PLAY, she giggles, blows kisses, waves, tries to talk like crazy and smiles ear to ear. We then change her diaper and feed give her her bottle. We love feeding her, she just stares at us the entire time and reaches out for our fingers. Last night was a different story, usually she goes to bed to good but i think she was way to over stimulated from our big trip yesterday. Last night when i posted i had to cut it short cause she was screaming then it turned into laughter and then it turned into craziness, she just did not want to go to sleep. After an hours of sitting in the dark and cuddling with her she finally fell asleep, it was hard to be serious though, she was just too darn cute all worked up, well accept for the crying part.
So we did something a little crazy this morning. First i should say that i forgot to mention that the lawyer and social worker for KVI was the one who drove us to Isabel's birth city yesterday, we have gotten to know alot of the direct staff quite a bit this week. We also met several times with Eyob, the director and founder of KVI. So the crazy thing we did this morning was Eyob took us to see the head of MOWA, I was a nervous wreck, i really did not want to go and if i did i said i would be holding on to Isabel for dear life. the reason we went was to show then that they made the right decision and to thank them for changing there mind. We also tried to advocate and educate them for future families who may find themselves in the same situation. We also wanted to ask them that if we choose to adopt from Ethiopia again, would there be a chance that we would be denied again. the director said there would be no reason to deny us however i almost wanted to get him to put this in writing. so that was that, the big scary office is now out of the way.
So its our last evening here. We just finished having our coffee ceremony and just laid Isabel down, she is so so tired. I thing us and my dad are going to try and sleep for a bit too then off to the airport in 4 hours. It has been an amazing trip but cant wait to get home and start our new life.
